Dr. Letty Maxwell: A Perfumer’s Journey Rooted in Heritage and Global Exploration
Dr. Letty Maxwell, founder of Lé Max Fragrances, is an educator and perfumer, certified by IFRA standards. Inspired by her grandmother, Audrey Wright, a perfume connoisseur, Dr. Maxwell discovered a love for fragrances. At the age of 12, young Letty was introduced to the world of fine perfumery, developing an early appreciation for the complexity of scent. Over the years, her fascination with exotic fragrances deepened, leading her to experiment with blending scents–a hobby that would later become her life’s passion.
Her journey took a transformative turn as she traveled the world, immersing herself in the perfume traditions of various cultures. While living in the Middle East, she was captivated by the region’s rich olfactory heritage, discovering the allure of rare ingredients like oud, amber, and precious resins. Through her travels to destinations such as Oman, Egypt, Italy, France, and Southeast Asia, she sought out exclusive perfume houses, learning not just about the artistry of fragrance creation but also the significance of packaging and the exclusivity of rare perfumes.
At Lé Max Fragrances, Dr. Maxwell channels her lifelong passion and global experiences into crafting scents that tell a story. Each fragrance is a tribute to her journey–blending heritage, luxury, and cultural influences into timeless, sophisticated aromas. As an educator, she also shares her expertise, bridging history, chemistry, and artistry to inspire a deeper appreciation for the world of perfumery.
Through her work, Dr. Maxwell proves that fragrance is more than just a scent–it is an experience, a memory, and a journey through time and culture.
